I received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Baldwin-Wallace College. An elementary educator since 1989, I have taught at St. Peter Catholic School for my entire career. I taught first grade for twelve years. Then I moved to kindergarten and have happily remained at this grade ever since.
My husband and I have lived in North Ridgeville for over twenty-five years. I enjoy reading, biking, taking walks in the park, and spending time with my family.
Kindergarten is a special time of discovery, growth, and greater independence. It is my goal to create a supportive and engaging environment where children love to learn and where they are encouraged to make good choices based on the teaching of Jesus.
Our all-day kindergarten follows the Ohio Common Core Standards as well as Diocesan Standards. The curriculum combines play-learning situations with academic readiness to ensure physical, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and social maturation in a Christian atmosphere of care and respect. Children receive instruction in religion, reading, mathematics, handwriting, language, social studies, science, health, music, art, physical education, and information technology. Through hands-on experiences in whole-group, small-group, and independent learning, the kindergartners develop a sense of accomplishment and independence as they gain confidence in their abilities.
