2ND GRADE

Mrs. Trampush

I graduated from Ashland University with a Bachelors of Science in Education degree. I also have my reading endorsement and a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I have four years of experience teaching three and four year old preschoolers in North Ridgeville and have taught at St. Peter School since 2010.

I am happily married and have three children of my own. I enjoy reading, doing puzzles, and spending time with my husband and children.

Second grade is an exciting year, spiritually and academically. We discuss how we became children of God at Baptism. We learn about God's loving forgiveness in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and we also learn about the Mass in preparation of receiving First Communion. Children are encouraged to share their spiritual and educational growth both at home and at school. Core curriculum includes higher reading and comprehension, mathematical problem solving and the language arts. Responsibility, respect, and leadership skills are developed in all academic and social areas. Cursive is also introduced in second grade.

Mrs. Stano

As the youngest of three children, I grew up in North Olmsted, Ohio and attended North Olmsted City Schools. My family belonged to The Church of St. Clarence. After high school, I continued my education at Baldwin-Wallace College. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and accepted a job teaching third grade at Assumption Academy in Broadview Heights. I taught at Assumption Academy for thirteen years. During my time at Assumption Academy, I married my husband, Rick, and in September 2002, we had our first son. After our son's birth, I was blessed to be able to job share my classroom and work part-time for the next nine years. We moved to North Ridgeville in 2003 and joined St. Peter Parish. Our second son was born in March 2006. In 2012, with both sons in school all day, I returned to teaching full time as part of the St. Peter School staff.

Overview:

Overview: Our specials classes include physical education twice a week, classroom music once a week, and we visit the library and computer lab once a week. We also utilize iPads in the classroom on a regular basis. We attend school Mass twice a month where the students participate in the parts of the Mass. We stress the importance of being responsible for our own things and actions, as well as respect for others.
